Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has just received a major update that includes a brand new operation, in the form of Phoenix, complete with community-made maps, a new weapons case, and more.

Valve teased the next operation for CS:GO in the last few weeks, confirming slowly but surely some of the maps that will make a comeback from previous events like Payback or Bravo.

Now, Operation Phoenix has been revealed, bringing eight maps chosen by players from previous events available for all the game modes, including competitive.

Access to the operation is awarded through the Phoenix Pass, which also allows players to earn special Phoenix Cases that can contain one of the 13 new personalized weapon skins.

Besides the new operation, a major update is also live, complete with many changes for maps like Overpass or Nuke, but also improvements to the AUG and SG556, not to mention safeguards against DDOS attacks.
