Frustrated with the development of the town, Indian Trail councilman, David Waddell decided to quit, and in an attempt of making an epic exit, he wrote his letter of resignation in Klingon, the language of the proud warriors from the TV series “Star Trek.”

The council board didn't seem to satisfy Mr. Waddell anymore so he made up his mind and proceeded to writing the letter stating that his resignation would take place on January 31, 2014 and that “perhaps today is a good day to resign.” In order to make himself understood, the soon-to-be a former council man included a translation of the Klingon text.

“Teach (the) city (the) constitution, I will return next time to (witness) victory. Resignation occurs in 2014 the 31st of January. Perhaps today is a good day (to) resign,” the translation of the text wrote, according to The Charlotte Observer.

Mayor Michael Alvarez didn't seem to have the same sense of humor and considered the letter to be disrespectful and an embarrassment to the city and to the state of North Carolina. The so-called childish and unprofessional letter was accompanied by another one, this time only in English, in order to explain to the citizens the reasons of the councilman's decision.

The man's letter went viral and Star Trek fans from all over the country praised his decision to use the language of courageous warriors to protest political decisions. It may be possible that Waddell, a plumber who decided to attend board meeting in an attempt to voice the locals, considered the council's talks to be just some gibberish nonsense and decided to reply in a similar way.

The issue that triggered the resignation was believed to be the way request for public information was handled and that the council was planning to add more fees and restrictions to public records. Having enough of the political scenery for at least some years, the man decided to go back to his former life, but not before making an impression worth-remembering for the locals.
