The peripheral has 6 customizable G-keys and macros

Gaming keyboards usually have mechanical key switches these days, but ones that use membranes aren't too rare. However, those that use membranes but still have N-Key Rollover are very unusual indeed.

Cougar has just released one such keyboard. Called 500K Gaming Keyboard, it means to attract those customers that don't want to go all the way and get the Cougar 700K.

There should be no performance of haptic feedback disadvantage despite the lack of mechanical switches.

Anyway, besides that engineering detail, the Cougar has two assets worth mentioning: the six fully customizable G-keys, and the dedicated macro functions.

Using the Cougar UIX Device Manager System, you can record macros, set profiles, control the backlight, lock the Windows key, and do the same to the multimedia function.

There are special keys on the keyboard itself, though, for switching these functions on or off, or changing settings. Or, well, for most of them.

It's enough to make me lament the total lack of any availability and pricing details. Presumably retailers will list the Cougar 500K Gaming Keyboard soon, but that means we'll have to wait for the price until then.
