14 DAY TRIAL // The best gaming keyboards in the world don't care what buttons and how many of them you press at once, but this kind of anti-ghosting capability is rather expensive to implement, and mostly unnecessary to be frank.
Not feeling up to stuffing an unneeded expense into the newest keyboard to leave its labs, Cougar didn't give full anti-ghosting or N-key rollover to the 200K.
Instead, it implemented that capability only in the 19 keys most used in gaming, like the shift, alt, space, WASD, arrows, etc.
In fact, you can switch the functionality of the WASD keys for the directional keys, which is convenient if you're left-handed.
There are some extra functions as well, like media controls, but perhaps some structured reporting is in order.
The Cougar 200K gaming keyboard
Featuring a 7-color backlight, the peripheral uses a special scissor mechanism which links the keycap, so that the tapping is done quietly and fast.
It only takes one hit of a special key to change the color of the backlight, the same way the Fn combo key can turn on the backlight breathing (makes the backlight slowly, softly pulse).
A function key combo can also be used to perform the change between WASD and arrow key functions for the left-handers.
Multimedia options can be accessed in a similar manner, and you can even lock the windows logo key (prevents you from minimizing your game by accident).
Essentially, the only “extra” keys over normal keyboards are the one for backlight control and the one for secondary functions. The peripheral looks normal otherwise.
As for the keyboard body, it involves a steel plate (for durability and stability) and a rubber stand (to prevent it from slipping no matter how feverish your typing becomes).
Availability
The Cougar 200K gaming keyboard should be put up for sale soon, especially with the product page already out, but the price is unknown, sadly.
Given the possibility to switch from 1X to 2X repeat rate (command speed doubled) and everything else above, you shouldn't expect it to be too accessible, but it won't be the most expensive one in the world either.
