Insofar as a peripheral with finger and thumb buttons can look like a claw at least

Gaming mice are starting to look more and more “out there” with each passing month, so is there any wonder that they've begun to take on the characteristics of multi-segmented animal feet?

The latest example of a mouse made of several pieces clasped together is the Cougar 700M.

It doesn't really look like the paw of a cougar, but it does, vaguely, resemble something with mobile toes.

The mouse has a DPI sensor (possible Avago) with a resolution of 8,200 DPI. That's the maximum sensitivity anyway. You can adjust it to fit your playing style, or different games.

Speaking of adjustment, you can program the buttons too (there are eight of them, not counting the scroll wheel). You don't even need to rely on the software for that, the 512 KB of onboard flash memory will store the settings, and an ARM embedded chip will process the info (like the 16.8 million macros, button maps and resolution settings).

Sadly, the Cougar 700M gaming mouse has not been given a price or ETA (estimated time of arrival).

Given the resemblance to the Mad Catz RAT, though, the tag could end up at around $70 / €70, give or take a few bucks.
