Couch Jumping Did Not Get Oprah an Invitation

It's been a while since something new came up from the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes camp. The word is out that the overdue wedding ceremony that is to unite the two lovers in the eyes of God (whether Catholic or the Scientology one is not yet sure) will finally take place this Saturday in Italy.

There's only one person missing from the long list of special guests that includes John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Jenna Elfman, Kirstie Alley, Leah Remini and Jennifer Lopez and that name belongs to the woman who, in some way or another, contributed to Tom Cruise's fall from (the Paramount) grace: Oprah Winfrey.

It all started one day when the wacky actor thought of no better way of proving his love for Katie than that of jumping on Oprah's coach during a live interview. Afterwards, it all came tumbling down, as the Paramount executives decided that his behavior cost the studio too much money and, in the least ceremonious manner possible, sacked him.

Either Tom blames Oprah (although he jumped on that sofa out of his own initiative) or it just slipped his mind, but the Queen of Television did not get an invitation for the ceremony. Winfrey says she's not upset about it, although she is the only one who knows the whole truth. 'It's not that I'm not going. It's that they had a limited number of people they could invite. I was not one of the invitees. That's fine. I don't get invited to everyone's wedding. I don't invite them to everything I do. But I wish them the best', the television host explained.

Even if she's not going, she is still going to buy them a present, the moment she decides what would please them the most. 'I have a great deal of regard for their relationship and so I'm trying to think of what to get them', Oprah added.
