CDV Software Entertainment has announced that, finally, the sequel of Cossacks: European War, Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars developed by GSC Gameworld, reached Gold version and it will be launched in the United States on April 26.

Until now, Cossacks has sold 2.5 million copies, and the sequel proposes to improve all the elements appreciated by gamers in the previous edition. For that reason, the 3D graphics engine was modified to simultaneously display on the map tens of thousands troops, and the game levels were built to depict over one thousand flora and fauna elements.

Cossacks II will allow players to become leaders of one of the nineteenth century nations and to make it one of the most important European nation. And since in politics the ends justify the means, the supremacy of the continent can be achieved through economic, military and even diplomatic maneuvers.

The game will focus on the Napoleonic wars which are considered an important period in the evolution of the European continent. Players will be able to choose from six nations: France, Great Britain, Austria, Russia, Prussia and Egypt, each of them having particular cultural, economic and military characteristics.

The battles from Cossacks II will take into account the troops' morale (there are 150 types of troops) and are inspired or depict historic military confrontations.

The economic aspects have not been neglected either and in order to build powerful armies, the players have to build first their cities; certain objectives can be achieved thorough economic embargo.

The single player missions will focus on Napoleon's campaigns, and the multiplayer mode proposes Deatmatch or Battle type missions where players will reenact real battles, rewriting history.
