Cory Monteith, the biggest star to come out of Fox’s “Glee,” died earlier this month of a heroin and alcohol overdose. He was 31 years old, and his body was cremated shortly afterwards. His “Glee” family took part in a memorial the other day.

Word online has it that Lea Michele, Cory’s longtime girlfriend and co-star, was the one who handled all arrangements in the aftermath of his death.

The funeral was rushed because of the media attention the case got, it was also said.

Consequently, it makes sense that Cory’s colleagues, friends, and associates on “Glee” also wanted a chance to honor him for the amazing human being and talented artist that he was.

“Today, Ryan Murphy and Lea Michele gathered the cast, crew and producers of Glee, along with colleagues from the network and studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith,” Fox says in a statement to E! News.

Murphy is the creator of the musical series, who recently told the press that the fate of the show in the aftermath of Cory’s death had been decided by Lea: and she decided it should go on.

“We thank the public for their continued outpouring of love and support as we grieve our friend and colleague during this difficult time,” Fox continues in the same statement.

“I've never met any 26-year-old person stronger than Lea,” Murphy said a couple of days back, as cited by the aforementioned media outlet.

“She's really been the leader in this situation, which is very unfair in a weird way because this show has always been so complicated about characters merging into personal lives, merging into public identity, so it's just all [expletive]-ing rough,” he added.

“Glee” will return to the small screen with a delay caused by the tragedy.
