Microsoft has released a new update for Cortana, the digital personal assistant included in Windows Phone 8.1, so as to provide users with info on stock prices.

Up until now, Cortana was able to inform users on whether their favorite stock has been on the rise or on decline, but now it can deliver detailed stock profiles, it seems.

As WMPoweruser explains, the update allows Cortana to track stock changes over time and to display them in simple graphs. Apparently, the data delivered to users is powered by Morningstar.

The update was performed server-side, which means that users won’t need to perform a specific action in order to take advantage of the new feature.

A few months ago, Microsoft promised twice-a-month updates for Cortana, so as to provide its users with various improvements and new features, and it seems that the company is determined to keep to this schedule.

Several weeks ago, Cortana was updated to provide users with World Cup Predictions, but other enhancements were delivered to it as well this way, including voice improvements.

At the moment, Cortana is available only for users in the United States, though owners of Windows Phone 8.1 handsets in other markets can also grab it, by changing their location and language settings to the US and English, respectively.
