While Lexar Media has stepped forth to present some DDR3 kits for laptops and desktops, Corsair did much the same for Apple systems of the iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro and MacBook variety.
Apple's range of products does not have that great a range of possible components as desktops and PCs do, but its memory spectrum is still covered in full.
What's more, there are some companies that make it a point to provide owners of Apple products the possibility to give them a boost.
Corsair is among the companies that had its name entered on that list a long time ago and which has now refreshed its offer.
What the company did was create a 4 GB DDR3 random access memory (RAM) module and also provide a dual-channel kit of 8 GB.
The former product is of the DDR3-1066 variety and has a price of $44.99, while the latter sells for $84.99 and has the same specs as far as everything else is concerned.
Naturally, the fact that they are made for iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro, MacBook and MacBook Pro computers means that the form factor of the newcomers is SODIMM.
The other specifications that prospective customers might be interested in are the 1.5V power and the latencies of 7-7-7-20.
"Macs are often the platform of choice for video production, photo editing and graphics design, and these applications require lots of memory." said Giovanni Sena, Director of Memory Products at Corsair.
"With hassle-free compatibility and renowned Corsair compatibility and support, our new Mac memory upgrades are a smart performance investment."
Like all other Corsair products, the 4 GB module and 8 GB kit are backed by lifetime warranties. As for actually performing the upgrade, Corsair published the exact instructions on its
blog.
