14 DAY TRIAL // Corsair may be known for making very fast RAM and SSDs, but it should be noted that it has garnered a similar amount of praise for its products' efficiency and, just as importantly, reliability. In fact, reliability and abuse resistance are the main traits of the company's highly acclaimed rugged hard drives. Seeking to further refine its technique and, in so doing, enable an even higher level of both survivability and performance, the hardware developer has unleashed the Flash Survivor GTR Series.
While most flash drives aren't expected to suffer from more than mild drops and spills, the Flash Survivor GTR drive is meant to withstand much more unusual conditions, such as being submerged under water for an extended period of time, being crushed under a boulder and being run over by a car (repeatedly), among other things. This survivability is conferred upon it by the specially made aircraft-grade aluminum shell, which “makes it practically indestructible.”
The Flash Survivor GTR uses the same storage technology as the Flash Voyager GTR, which means that transfer speeds are of up to 34MB/s when reading and of 28MB/s when writing. These data rates alone are enough to grab attention, but it is interesting to note that this performance has the habit of not disappearing after the drives go though multiple levels of hell, so to speak. In Corsair's own tests, the drives were dropped, baked, boiled, battered with hammers, zapped in a microwave and even run over by SUVs without expiring. The storage unit can also last for long periods at underwater depths of 200 meters, thanks to its EPDM seal.

Among rugged USB flash drives, and other types of storage solutions, the Flash Survivor GTR Series can be said to have not just the highest level of survivability, but also the highest class of performance and storage capacities (32GB and 64GB). They have already been made available, are backed by a ten-year, limited warranty and come with Corsair's customer service and technical support.
