Announced at the end of May, Corsair's low-voltage Vengeance Arctic White 8GB dual-channel memory kit with low profile heatsinks has now become available for purchase from the company's website as well as from other retailers.

Unlike the heatsinks used for the standard Vengeance DDR3 modules, the LP version packs a re-designed heatspreader which is about 21mm smaller, as it measures just 26.25mm in height.

Thanks to this modification, the DIMM modules are compatible with most aftermarket coolers and can even be installed in small form factor cases or other space-constrained enclosures.

As far as their specifications are concerned, the Arctic White Vengeance low-profile kits requires only 1.35V to operate (making them compatible with Sandy Bridge CPUs) and has a base frequency of 1600MHz.

Timings are set at 9-9-9-24 and all the models are put through an elaborate screening process, meant to certify their operation at these speeds and timings.

"Vengeance DDR3 memory is the premier choice for system builders who want dependable, overclockable DRAM at a price that allows their budget to go further," said Giovanni Sena, director of Memory Products at Corsair.

"Our latest offering, the Special Edition Arctic White Vengeance LP, gives builders, system integrators, and gaming enthusiasts the ability to assemble low-voltage systems with an appealing, stylish new look," concluded the company's rep.

Corsair Special Edition Arctic White Vengeance Low Profile memory is available immediately for purchase from the company's resellers and distributors or from the Corsair website. Pricing for the 8GB dual-channel memory kit has been set at $89.99.

Besides the low-voltage Arctic White memory kit, Corsair's low profile Vengeance memory line also includes other dual-channel kits that range in capacity between 4GB and 16GB, but require 1.5V to operate.
