Having already released a fair number of power supplies for the high-end and enthusiast market, Corsair is now catering to the needs of mainstream system builders by bringing forth the Builder Series of PSUs.

Once again paying mind to the energy efficiency aspect, Corsair designed the Builder Series, currently composed of the CX430, CX500 and CX600.

These three newcomers boast a single +12V rail, an efficiency of up to 80 percent and are aimed at mainstream PCs with a single video card.

Another component used in the creation of these PSUs is a 120mm fan whose rotary speed depends on the temperature.

Mostly they are meant for home or office personal computers and as an affordable, silent solution for a new system or a PC upgrade.

What's more, the newcomers are fully compatible with the ATX12V V2.3 specification, as well as the European ErP Directive on the eco-design of energy-related products.

“Corsair has earned a reputation for engineering the best PSUs on the market, and with the new Builder Series, we now have a best-in-class solution for those who need a great value power supply for basic system builds and upgrades,” said Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager of Components at Corsair.

“The Builder Series is perfect for system builders who want to take advantage of Corsair’s legendary quality and reliability,” he added.

“The Builder Series CX430, CX500 and CX600 power supplies have been designed to provide continuous, reliable power output, and worry-free compatibility with your home or office PC,” states the announcement.

“They are the ideal choice for PC builders and upgraders who need an affordable, quiet, and energy efficient PSU for mainstream performance, single GPU systems,” the press release added.

With suggested prices of $49.99, $64.99 and $74.99, respectively, the CX430, CX500 and CX600 are already selling.
