Corsair, one of the world’s most prominent providers of RAM memory modules for desktop and notebook computers, has announced 8GB and 16GB DDR3 memory upgrade kits for Apple iMacs, MacBook Pros and Mac mini systems.

In a report sent to the media today, Corsair acknowledges that Macs that feature only two memory slots have traditionally been limited to only 8GB of memory. Not anymore, according to the company.

“By increasing the individual module capacity to 8GB, Corsair's latest memory upgrade kits allow Mac owners to upgrade to 10GB, 12GB, or even 16GB of memory.”

Well, that’s as long as the Mac itself supports that much RAM. Which is why Corsair has tested these Mac memory kits at Apple Developer Compatibility Labs and concluded that they work only with the most recent MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini systems (shipped in 2011).

Like all Corsair DRAM products, these new DDR3 Mac memory upgrades have been tested to exacting standards and come with a limited lifetime warranty.
