Corsair recently announced the retail availability of a new computer case designed especially for gamers who require a high-quality enclosure for their PC, but don't want to spend more than $100 for getting one.

Going by the name of the Carbide Series 400R, the new chassis borrows a series of features from the Corsair Obsidian series and Graphite series enclosures.

This list includes features such as an easy to remove side panel and tool-free drive installation, all of these being paired together with an advanced cable management system that allows for clean-looking builds and improved airflow.

Speaking of airflow, the Carbide Series 400R comes pre-fitted with a pair of front-mounted 120mm fans and with a 120mm rear facing fan, and also allows users to install an additional four 120mm and six 140mm fans.

Those who prefer to use water cooling, will also be glad to know that the chassis was specially designed to be compatible with dual-120mm fan form factor radiators as well as with Corsair's own Hydro Series H100 CPU coolers.

As far as storage is concerned, the new Carbide series case offers room for installing four 5.25-inch drives, six 3.5-inch hard drives, with 2.5-inch compatibility for SSDs, and can accommodate graphics cards up to 316mm in length.

The front panel has two USB 3.0 ports, a FireWire port, as well as the standard headphone and microphone jacks.

"The Carbide Series 400R is a remarkable achievement - a high-volume, aggressively priced case for PC gamers with the ease of installation and cooling flexibily that serious builders and gamers demand," said Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager for Components at Corsair.

"Performance enthusiasts operating on a tight budget can step up to renowned Corsair quality when choosing the case that's going to be the foundation of their gaming system," concluded the company's rep.

The Corsair Carbide Series 400R is available from authorized etailers worldwide at a US suggested retail price of $99 USD.
