Meant for handling large data sets such as programming and videography

Corsair is well know for having, over the years, brought out a significant number of memory products, power supplies and other things that, could be said, went over the top, performance-wise. Now, the company seems to have no problem continuing that tradition, having added, to its famous line of Dominator memory products, a pair of high-capacity Dominator DDR3 memory kits. Unlike previous products, however, which were meant for gamers and overclocking enthusiasts, these two new kits are intended for professional applications that heavily rely on RAM.

The two memory kits are a dual-channel, 16GB kit, composed of four 4GB modules, and the 24GB triple-channel kit, made up of six 4GB modules. Both of them are optimized for Intel P55 and X58 platforms (guaranteed to work on all Bloomfield platforms) and have latencies and speeds that make them best suited for videography, programming and scientific computations, or any other memory-intensive applications.

"We continue to see increasing demand for high density solutions from programmers, scientists, videographers, and other data-intensive users," stated John Beekley, VP of Technical Marketing at Corsair. "These new 1600MHz modules will enable a new level of processing speed for handling these large data sets."

For end-users seeking details on the actual specs, the modules that make up the two memory kits have a frequency of 1,600MHz, latencies of CL 9-9-9-24 and a power consumption of 1.65V. The company has outfitted each module with matching Intel Blue Heatsinkg with patented DHX technology, in order to increase their stability and lifespan. There is also the option of installing, when the motherboard layout allows it, a Dominator Airflow Fan with 60mm fans, which will further reduce the operating temperature of the DDR3.

The 24GB DDR3-1600 and 16GB DDR3-1600 kits have prices of $1,450 and $1,000, respectively, and are accompanied by a lifetime warranty.
