Corsair Memory announced that the company will start production of DDR2-1066 and DDR2-800 low latency 2GB kits.

As Nvidia will soon launch its latest nForce 590 chipset based motherboards, the company initiated the project developing two new modules - TWIN2X2048-8500C5 and TWIN2X2048-6400C4 - to be compatible with the upcoming Nvidia product and with the latest technology - Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP).

EPP is a feature that brings enhanced and simplified overclocking and access to advanced memory specifications. Motherboards designed with a special BIOS can identify the presence of EPP settings, and, when is finally enabled, the system can benefit from all performances EPP offers, accessing instantly the memory's specified settings.

"During the collaborative phase of EPP development, we worked very closely with NVIDIA to optimize these 2 new parts on motherboards based on their upcoming chipset," said Richard Hashim, Director of Product Management at Corsair Memory.

The TWIN2X2048-8500C5 and the TWIN2X2048-6400C4 are the first in the XMS family of products to feature Enhanced Performance Profiles, these modules being also certified "SLI Ready". The EPP feature elevates memory performance by utilizing the advanced memory timings captured in the unused portion of the JEDEC standard Serial Presence Detect (SPD).

As Corsair has a tradition in fast as lightning memory production, everyone expected the company to initiate manufacturing of DDR2-1066 2GB kits.
TWIN2X2048-8500C5 is scored at 1066MHz, as it mingles the best high frequency performance and high density in 2GB capacity.

"The end result is that our new XMS DDR2 modules not only boot at extreme speeds and low latency, they also have guaranteed compatibility at the advanced memory timings," Hashim added.

"The performance difference of DDR2-1066 and low latency of CL4 is significant. Corsair is dedicated to continue develop and launch cutting edge DDR2 technology."

Joining the growing XMS DDR2 product line, Corsair's TWIN2X2048-6400C4 is aimed especially at gamers.
