Products disappear mysteriously from shelves before when problem is discovered

Corsair was, and still is, the subject of ovation on the part of its customers and market watchers, thanks to some of its products, but it looks like even this company is not immune to the occasional device build mishap.

People may or may not now of a certain high-end CPU cooler known as the Hydro Series H100.

We spotted this closed-loop liquid solution and wrote about it as soon as it was officially released, back in May, 2011.

Unfortunately, even though it impressed with its liquid cooling prowess, even independent of a full-fledged liquid cooling system as it was, the cooler has run into some problems.

More specifically, a number of owners of the H100 have been running into fan control issues.

Normally, all H100 models have a profile button that changes the rotary speed of the cooler responsible with keeping the liquid on the inside of the radiator cold.

It was discovered that the affected units come from batch #11359403 and simply will not allow for the speed to change from the default setting.

This was the reason why the product was temporarily removed from retailers' “in stock” listings and it was even feared that the issue would escalate into a general recall.

Fortunately, that won't happen, although the affected customers do have the option of contacting customer support for an advance replacement.

It is also a good thing that the problem was spotted before the majority of coolers from the retail channel were sold.

Anyone who feels they might be among those few unlucky buyers need only drop by this page, where Corsair addressed the problem quite thoroughly, even outlining a method to resolve the matter without having to send back the product.

Resetting the firmware should work, but if the issue still arises, then customers are advised to just go ahead with seeking a replacement.
