Corsair Expands Hydro Series Line with H40 and H70 CPU Water Coolers

Corsair has just announced that it has expanded its portfolio of self contained liquid cooling solution with the addition of two new Hydro Series models, the H40 and H70, which should follow on the footsteps of the popular H80 and H100 coolers.

The Hydro Series H40 is Corsair's new entry-level liquid CPU cooler and it uses a 120mm radiator with a pre-fitted fan as well as what appears to be an aluminum water block.

Why would Corsair use aluminum for the cold plate is a mystery, but fortunately the second solution to be announced today, the Hydro Series H70 features a more advanced design with a copper water block.

This is connected to a 38mm double thick radiator, which is also compatible with 120mm fans, but this time Corsair has chosen to ship the CPU water cooler without a fan to let its customers decide upon a model that better fits their needs.

"The Hydro Series helped revolutionize the liquid CPU cooling industry by providing the power of liquid cooling in self-contained, maintenance-free systems," said Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager of the Components Business Unit at Corsair.

"As CPUs continue to get faster and hotter, liquid CPU cooling is going mainstream and the Hydro Series H40 is an excellent choice for adding liquid CPU cooling to basic desktop PCs. 

The Hydro Series H70 CORE was developed to meet the needs of customers who'd like to save money by purchasing a high-performance liquid CPU cooler and making use of the fans that they already have," concluded the company's rep.

Corsair's Hydro Series H40 and H70 CORE will be available starting from October and both solutions are compatible with AMD as well as Intel processors.

The MSRP of the H40 is set at $59 USD (44.8 Euros), while its older brother will hit retail for $89 USD (67.6 Euros).
