Even though it has focused on SSDs and memory products lately, Corsair is still quite bent on preserving its role as major supplier of high-quality power supplies, so it decided to finally start shipping the Professional series of PSUs, currently composed of three models with wattages of 750W, 850W and 1,200W, respectively.

The Professional line of power supplies from Corsair was revealed back in June and is most noteworthy through the fact that it is made up of 80Plus-rated models.

The 80Plus rating system is meant to place the various PSUs on today's market on a scale in terms of energy efficiency.

According to that scale, the Professional rank highest, not counting the 80Plus Platinum model from FSP.

Basically, the three newcomers stand out from the fold thanks to their efficiency of up to 92 percent, though this is hardly the only asset they possess.

For one, the Professional Series eliminate switching losses and reduce EMI by virtue of the Zero Voltage Switching and Zero Current Switching technologies.

The products also comply with the ATX12V v2.31 and EPS v2.92 standards, while having one 12V rail each, as well as individual DC-to-DC voltage regulation for it and the 3.3V and 5V rails.

What's more, the PSUs have Active PFC (Power Factor Correction) with a PF value of 0.99, plus a MTBF of 100,000 hours.

"The response of early users and reviewers to the Professional Series Gold PSUs has been phenomenal," stated Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager of Components at Corsair.

"We have been working overtime to meet the demand for this ultra-efficient, fully modular PSU, and are thrilled to announce that these highly anticipated products are now widely available from Corsair's retailers," he added.

The AX750, AX850 and AX1200 have prices of $169.99$189.99 and $299.99, respectively, and have seven-year warranties.
