14 DAY TRIAL // Corel has recently confirmed that Microsoft’s last Patch Tuesday updates of the year break down fonts in some of its software, saying that the Redmond-based company is the only one that can release a fix.
According to previous reports, Windows 7 Security Update KB2753842 wrecks some OpenType fonts in Quark Xpress and CorelDraw, but Microsoft is yet to publicly confirm this.
Corel, on the other hand, said that this bug can only be patched by Microsoft, as it’s an issue affecting their software.
“We take this issue very seriously here at Corel. I looked into it and found out that is indeed a Microsoft problem: not ours. Other applications have similar problems, not just CorelDRAW. We will notify Microsoft about this,” Claude Peloquin, CorelDRAW senior software developer, said according to a post on Microsoft’s support forums.
