Users can get the source code of the engine from GitHub

CoreBreach is a futuristic "anti-gravity" racing game with combat-based gameplay and the developers have just announced that it went open source.

CoreBreach features six anti-gravity racing ships ranging from easily agile to ultra-fast, six futuristic race tracks of varying difficulty, six different combat weapons including the deadly „Zeus Plasma Cannon,“ a career mode with story-line, multiplayer, and much more.

Going open source meant the source code of the game "CoreBreach" and the custom 3D engine it uses (Core3D) will be available for the public. This is about 20 thousand lines of Objective-C++ code. The license will be LGPL (v2) for the engine and GPL (v2) for the game.

There are some obvious limitations, such as the game data (art, assets, models, music, sounds, etc) which will not be open-sourced because it contains licensed material.

The source code is available on GitHub.
