As most of you have probably already found out, Intel is days away from introducing its new Nehalem-based range of consumer processors, dubbed Core i7. Reviews of the three Core i7 models, expected to launch this month, have already surfaced on the Internet, with initial numbers clearly indicating that users will deal with a considerable performance boost, compared not only with AMD's processors, but also with some of Intel's Core 2 Quad and Extreme CPUs.

Now, aside from all major motherboard makers, which have already finished work on their new X58-powered mobos, memory makers and cooling products suppliers are also getting ready to support Intel's next-generation CPUs.

Cooler Master, one of the largest manufacturers of CPU coolers, has now introduced the Intel Core i7 LGA 1366 retention bracket, coming to support the new processor socket featured on X58-based mobos. The bracket has been specifically designed to allow computer enthusiasts to upgrade their Core i7 CPU stock cooler with one custom-designed by Cooler Master.

The LGA 1366 supports a wide range of the company's coolers, including the V8, Hyper Z600 series, Hyper 212 and Geminii S. Some of these models will be provided with the new retention bracket included in the product's retail package, thus enabling Cooler Master's high-performance coolers to support the latest Intel and AMD processors.

Basically, if you are an owner of one of the afore-mentioned CPU thermal solutions, you will be set to install your high-performance cooler on one of the upcoming Core i7 processors based on the LGA 1366 socket. The only thing that you will still have to do will be to search for Cooler Master's new retention bracket package for Core i7 processors. Unfortunately, the company has not specified any details regarding pricing and availability of the new retention bracket, but chances are you will learn of them once the new Core i7 processors become available in stores.
