Their operations against law enforcement websites are in most cases successful

CopSeek.com,

a directory of law enforcement links, products, news and police employment job boards, is the latest victim of Anonymous, one of the most active hacker collectives during this holiday season.

Email addresses and passwords belonging to their customers ended up being published in a Pastebin file, just like in many similar hacking operations.

Fortunately, the passwords weren’t posted in clear text, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the hackers didn’t decrypt them and maybe even used them for other malicious purposes.

Even though it’s not their style to deface websites, in this case they've made an exception and even posted a Youtube rap video from Eazy-E. At press time, the website is still down, displaying the video and the messages posted by Anonymous.

In the past few days, members of Anonymous hacked some important websites, including the one belonging to the New York City Public Advocate and the one of the security intelligence firm Stratfor.
