An incident from San Diego brings to light a case which some label police abuse. A man is arrested and allegedly beaten over capturing footage of a cop giving him a ticket.

Peta Pixel notes that Adam Pringle was being given a citation for smoking in Mission Beach and was taping the incident on his smartphone camera.

He was arrested, and according to the video above, even badly beaten for refusing to stop filming the officer. He was detained, jailed for the night and charged with obstruction of justice.

In case you're wondering, there is no law that forbids you from taping incidents in which you are being fined, but perhaps the officer feels that the ticket could be debunked in court based on video evidence.

The most disturbing part about the clip is that the cop, identified as M. Reinhold, tells the “suspect” that he views his Samsung Galaxy as a weapon, going on to grab it out of his hands and immobilize him.

“Phones can be converted into weapons … look it up online,” Reinhold says.

Who do you believe the victim is in this scenario? Leave me your opinion on the matter.
