14 DAY TRIAL // Chinese handset maker Coolpad has just confirmed the future release of their first Android smartphone, Coolpad N930. One of the biggest mobile phone markets in the world, China is the main battlefield for brands like HTC, Samsung, Motorola, LG and Sony Ericsson.
Lately, more indigenous handset manufacturers decided to enter the Chinese market with their own Android smartphones.
Companies like Lenovo, Huawei, ZTE, Meizu or Yulong have more or less experience in this field, but can take advantage of the fact that their products will be much cheaper.
One such company, Coolpad has already confirmed their new Android smartphone flagship N930, which is supposed to be unveiled at the Beijing Telecommunications Exhibition, next month.
Coolpad's officials stated that the device will most likely be available on the market starting next year, but there's no information yet regarding its availability outside the Chinese market.
The new Coolpad N930 smartphone will be powered by a 1Ghz processor and it will come with Android 2.1 OS out-of-the-box, but officials said that a software upgrade to Android 2.2 will also be available, soon after the official release.
Other key features of the Android device include: a 3.5-inch ASV (Advanced Super View) LCD capacitive touchscreen with support for 16 million colors (800 × 480 pixels resolution).
For the non-tech savvy people the ASV technology enables wider viewing angle, as well as faster response time and higher contrast. The technology was introduced by Sharp Microelectronics a long time ago.
Coolpad N930 also distinguishes through its build and design, as it features a titanium body with high strength and corrosion resistance. The ceramic buttons are also an innovation that worths mentioning.
We're not sure yet about the phone's network compatibility, but there's high chances that we won't see this one outside the Chinese market anytime soon. No word on price or release date either.
