Designer B. Bouchet has come up with a very nifty time-keeping machine, which will add a neat and most colorful dimension to what you were used to call “looking and seeing what time it is.” The very name of this gadget is Coolheure Magic Mirror, a mixture between English and French, which sounds pretty much like the French word “couleur” meaning “color,” but adding the cool factor to it. By all means, the Coolheure Magic Mirror is one clock like no other, as it boasts interchangeable accessories that modify its “artsy” performance and can be matched to the home décor or setting.

First of all, when it comes to Coolheure Magic Mirror, it's space you need, as we're dealing with a projection clock. It uses a dichroic bulb that reflects only a certain color and which works perfectly with acrylic mirror casing.

Basically, the device is a small-scale projector coming within a translucent acrylic case, and which delivers a very pure and cool (thermally speaking) light that casts shadows on a wall. Of course, these shadows we're talking about are the arms of the clock, which will tell you the time. Yet, it's the background of the wall-projected clock that can be changed as you like, as you can easily buy and replace the original transparencies with new ones to suit better your taste or the interior of the room.

Other accessories are also available, such as pedestals you can mount your Coolheure Magic Mirror on, coming with three heights and making your room look even cooler. The dimension of the wall-projected clock will, of course, vary according to the distance from the vertical surface.

Thus, you'll get a 35cm diameter clock, if you place the Coolheure Magic Mirror 1 meter away from the wall, 70cm at 2 meters, 105cm at 3 meters, and a huge 1,4m diameter clock if you're projecting it from 4 meters away. There are no specs on the maximal distance, but since we're talking about a diminutive projector, we are inclined to guess that 4 meters are the biggest distance from which you can get a decent picture.

The Coolheure Magic Mirror retails for around $352, with each set of additional transparencies setting you back with approximately $13.8. No word on whether you can print or use your own transparencies.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
