The product provides more silence, control and an extended warranty

Last October, Cooler Master released the Silent Pro Hybrid series of power supplies. Now, just short of one year later, the company is updating it according to user feedback.

This goes to show that the series, even though it comes in 850W, 1050W, and 1300W and, thus, doesn't get bought by anyone other than upper mainstream and high-end users, still became quite popular.

One of the perks of the updated Silent Pro Hybrid is the use of sleeved cables.

Another is that the PSU fan can be completely turned off, provided load is below 200W. This makes the PC significantly more silent.

A third advantage is the extended warranty, from five to 10 years, starting with the date of purchase. The best part of this is that the warranty is retroactive: Silent Pro Hybrid PSUs purchased before this announcement now enjoy 10 years of support.

So far, these changes apply only to the Silent Pro Hybrid 1300W, not the 850W and 1050W units. Sales will start this month, for a price that will, hopefully, not be any higher than the original ($299.99 / €225).
