There never seems to be a shortage of gaming hardware and/or accessories, but there also never seem to be too many of these things out on sale, which is why Cooler Master did not feel any urge to refrain from launching a new keyboard.

Indeed, since consumers seem to thrive on new things, a periodic update of one's product collection is required.

The newest product to leave Cooler Master's R&D labs is called Trigger-Z and is a mechanical keyboard based on the original Trigger.

It has all the standard keys, and many more besides, including multimedia controls. Or, rather, the function keys (F1 – F12) can double as multimedia keys once the switch key is pressed.

That's not the half of it though. The keyboard also has a detachable wrist wrest, for comfort during long gaming sessions.

More importantly, though, it has 128 KB of onboard memory, allowing it to store its own macros (up to 75) and key profiles (up to five).

That makes it very useful when going to a LAN party, since you won't need to reconfigure the games on the available stations, and your performance won't be impaired.

Moreover, all keys have mechanical switches and 65 key rollover, meaning that 64 keys can be pressed at the same time without the peripheral or PC choking on signal overload.

Furthermore, the Windows key can be deactivated (Windows lock key), making it impossible to accidentally minimize the game at a bad time.

Finally, the Cooler Master CM Storm Trigger-Z has a 14K gold-plated ultra low latency USB connector (high-grade braided cable) plus a full LED backlight system in 3 modes and 5 brightness levels.

The product will ship with Cherry MX brown switches, and later with Red or Blue switches depending on your region, for a price of €119 / $162. The backlight is red for red switches, white for brown switches and blue for blue switches.
