This should have been done a long time ago; better late than never

Cooler Master has just announced the introduction of the new Hyper 412S cooler, on its official website. This version is built with the LGA2011 users in mind and comes with two slim fans that will allow the installation of memory modules on both sides of the CPU.

In our opinion, slim fans should have been the norm for the last six or seven years, but the upgrade is welcomed anyway.

Cooler Master’s Hyper 412 Slim is a model using the company’s Continuous Direct Contact technology.

Compared with other types of direct heatpipe touch technologies, Cooler Master’s CDC has no gaps between the heatpipes so all that the IHS (integrated heat spreader) touches are the heaptpipes.

That wouldn’t matter too much for Ivy Bridge, as Intel used low quality TIM (thermal interface material) beneath the IHS and the end-user can’t change that without voiding the CPUs warranty.

Pricing stands at 39,95 USD (VAT 19% included) which is around 51 USD for the US-based buyers.
