Works on both Intel and AMD central processors

All central processing units come with their very own cooling solution. This is obvious, since they would melt under their own heat if they didn't. However, these common combinations of fans and heatsinks can only handle a stock-clocked chip and are often not as silent as specially-designed models. Cooler Master, of course, is more than aware of this, and just as eager to exploit this reality, especially if it gets to satisfy its customers in the process.

Cooler Master has just brought out the V6GT CPU cooling mechanism. Described as a “no compromise air cooler,” this component is intended as a substitute for the fin arrays and spinners that usually accompany the more powerful Intel or AMD central processing units. The list of supported sockets includes AMD AM2, AM3+ and AM3, as well as Intel LGA 557, LGA 1156 and LGA 1366. A wide range indeed, made possible by a universal mounting kit that includes all the necessary Brackets, back plates and screws.

What will immediately strike those with knowledge of such hardware is the double V heatpipe construction. The cooler itself boasts two arrays of such 6mm copper heatpipes and asymmetrical aluminum fins. This should ensure optimum heat dissipation, regardless of season and room temperature. The base of the heatsink is also made of copper. As for the act of heat dispersion itself, the company threw in a 120mm red LED fan with a DynaLoop bearing and a rotary speed of 800 to 2200RPM (rotations per minute).

The entire product measures 131.5 x 120 x 165 mm, weighs 805 grams and has a sound output of between 15 and 38 dBA. Unfortunately, Cooler Master was in no way generous when it came to pricing details. Fortunately, actual shipments are slated to commence sometime during the coming weeks, so this final bit of information shouldn't take long to surface.
