Cooler Master's Cosmos Black system case has been in the news a few times before, but it is just now that the company allows us to have a look inside the chassis as well. What we're talking here is an all-black version of the Hyper Z600 CPU cooler, which is said to come bundled with a special edition offering from the company. The name of the cooler says it all: it will be an all dressed in black part, starting from the vital heat-dissipation components to its shroud and, of course, to its fan.

Basically, the cooler sports a metal CPU contact block connected to six heatpipes meant to carry heat through a dense array of aluminum fins. The shape of the fins resembles that of a cross. The cooler also includes a shroud that directs the airflow from the fan attached to either side of the array. The fan is 120mm, and is also PWM controlled. Its speed ranges from 800 up to 2,200 rpm. Cooler Master has included a new feature in this product, something it calls airflow cover and which has been added at the top of the cooler to prevent upwards airflow and, as such, improve the overall cooling effect from the airflow from the fan.

According to the company, the cooler has been designed to support all current desktop CPU sockets, including the Intel LGA-1366. The main reason for this release is said to be an aesthetic one, so as to add value to the cooler that will blend with the black theme of the new Cosmos model. Cooler Master said that it was planning to release the new cooler on December 11, as part of a bundle with the Cosmos black case.

The cooler looks great and rather appealing as well, the only downside being the fact that the company will only offer it with its black case. Hopefully, the normal Z600 will also get an updated version that will include the modifications Cooler Master made for the bundled model, so all users will be able to enjoy it.
