Advanced Micro Devices may be lagging behind Intel in terms of raw processing power, but its latest series of six-core central processing units seems to have done a good job at reducing the gap. In fact, the new Phenom II X6 series of CPUs made quite a strong impression, even having already shown up in more than a few gaming systems. Seeing the marketing potential of these chips, and the overclocking benefits that a superior cooling solution would bring, CoolIT has decided to officially unveil an all-in-one liquid cooling solution meant to complement them.

The new product offered by CoolIT is a cooling system dubbed ECO ALC. Meant for gamers and multimedia enthusiasts that lack the unlimited funds of some top-tier players, the cooler will work with not only the Phenom II X6 Series of CPUs, but also with all AMD chips using the AM2, AM2+ and AM3 sockets.

The ECO ALC is composed of a ceramic bearing CFF1 pump (with a MTTF of 50,000 hours), a copper waterblock, a radiator and a 120mm fan, with a speed of 1,800RPM. All in all, the cooling mechanism should be more than capable of driving six-core temperatures lower than the reference solution.

"AMD has raised the bar for affordable performance in the new Phenom II X6 with advanced capabilities like its Turbo Core Technology," Geoff Lyon, CEO of CoolIT Systems, said. "ECO ALC continues to hold the highest performance to price ratio of any liquid cooler currently on the market. When you combine these computing and cooling technologies, the performance results are tremendous."

The CoolIT ECO ALC is accompanied by a two-year warranty and carries a price tag of $75. Finally, to ensure that its creation is appealing to as many users as possible, the company also made it compatible with Intel chips, namely those CPUs compatible with the LGA 775, LGA 1156 and LGA 1366 sockets.
