Custom system builder Maingear and liquid cooling specialist CoolIT have just announced their partnership that will lead to the development of better performing and cooler running computer systems.

The two companies have worked together before as CoolIT's ECO II CPU cooler has been used for quite some time by Maingear in their flagship system, dubbed the Shift.

In addition, other desktop machines from Maingear's lineup also make use of water cooling systems developed by CoolIT, including the Quantum Shift and the F131 series.

“The Maingear team has put together industry changing solutions and we at CoolIT are very proud that they have put their faith in our technology” says Barry Fairhurst, VP Sales and Marketing at CoolIT.

“We are very excited with our partnership with Maingear and look forward to supporting some of the most innovative products to hit the marketplace in a long time,” concluded the company's rep.

Established in 2002, Maingear is a privately held boutique computer manufacturer that specializes in designing custom gaming desktops and laptops as well as media center PCs and workstations.

Over its short history, the company managed to become one of the best regarded boutique builders in the industry, Nvidia even using their Shift system for showcasing the Fermi GPU (GF100) at CES 2010.

As far as CoolIT Systems is concerned, the company has been in business since 2001 and its solutions are used in systems developed by the likes of Alienware, AVADirect, Dell, Shuttle, Systemax and Velocity Micro.

Custom designed CoolIT water-coolers have also been used by various computer parts manufacturers such as EVGA or Inno3D.

The two companies have not announced anything more specific about their partnership, but it is expected that Maingear will upgrade its desktop machines in order to use CoolIT’s upcoming 2011 product line.

This includes two new CPU coolers with low-profile head units, and an advanced thermal management chassis control system.
