Belkin is not only rubber and plastic, swimming mice or colorful USB hubs. A laptop cooling solution looks a little too innovative to be true, or at least this is the first impression, until you try it. The Belkin Laptop Cooling Pad may seem either a waste of time or a revolutionary invention in the laptop cooling dead end.

The cooling pad features a completely logical
layout with a big fan in the middle to blow air out the sides. The entire structure is designed to facilitate the airflow. The Cooling Pad is wave-shaped and is made of a mix of plastic coated in a layer of non-slip rubber. The pad's surface is curved in the fan area, in order to increase the ventilation space for an improved efficiency.

The pad is useful even when the ventilation system is shut off and serves as an extremely comfortable support for your laptop when working at the desk. The pad can be fastened to the desktop space in order to prevent accidental slips off the surface. Moreover, the pad's design raises the back of the notebook and leans it to a very comfortable typing angle of about five or ten degrees.

The fan is powered from the laptop's supply via an USB connection. If you are an adept of autonomy, you should consider that the USB cooling pad would slightly affect your battery's lifetime.

There is no need to install any additional software or drivers, and therefore the unit is ready to go as soon as the notebook has been set on the pad and the USB connector has been plugged into a spare USB port. When not in use, the power cable can be camouflaged under a detachable panel inside the pad.

The Cooling Pad is extremely light and thin, especially built for accompanying the notebook in the same bag. The special wave design is somewhat hindering portability, but this is not to be regarded as a significant drawback.
