Towards the beginning of this year's January, I introduced you to a really cool and innovative app intended to make it easier for people to find animal-friendly restaurants in a given region.

At that time, the app was a work in progress, and the folks at America for Animals were busy trying to raise the funds needed to move forward with this project and make the app available to animal rights supporters.

As it turns out, the fundraising campaign went swell, and the group is happy to announce that its app, which was released as part of the Humane Eating Project, is now officially available for download.

The app is free and it allows people to pin-down restaurants that are close-by whose menu includes dishes that are vegan, vegetarian or at least not tied to animal cruelty.

From what I can tell, the folks who have until now given it a try are quite pleased with it. Thus, user jennygmaldonado says, “I love how this app helps me to make wiser food choices! I eat out a lot so it's great that there's an app to guide me in eating more humanely.”

Check out the video below to learn more about this app, and, should you decide to get behind the Humane Eating Project by using it, do let me know how things work out.
