What are you going to eat today? If that question comes up more than twice a week, then it is time to think about getting a system in place. Using a cooking app is not just for master chefs. You can find great ideas for a little party or just stay organized when it comes to supplies.

The new selection in the AppStore features nine different categories: Recipes, Healthy Cooking, Drinks, Desserts, Create Your Own Cookbook, Meal Planning, Tools & Shopping, Reference, and Magazines related to cooking.

When it comes to Recipes, the AppStore is full of great apps with amazing UIs. Take Panna, for example. This is a free app described as the first-ever video cooking magazine for iPhone and iPad. You get one free recipe each issue regardless of whether you choose to buy the full issue or not.

If you buy a subscription for a year, you get access to their current issue besides the five bi-monthly issues. There are over 2.5 hours of video content per issue, so you don't just read the recipes, but you can follow master chefs and compare the final result with their creations.

Another great app is Jamie Oliver's Recipes. For the price of $0 you get the well-known British chef to explain how he does miracles in his kitchen.

Leaving the burgers and potato chips aside, the iTunes editors have created a whole category dedicated to healthy cooking. These are not just vegetarian recipes, but lifestyle solutions and meals that are gluten or sugar free.

Have your fancy cocktail and drink it too! With the apps in this next category you can learn how to prepare the most sophisticated drinks or coffees. Delectable is, on the other hand, an app dedicated to the most refined wine tasters. Not only can you scan the labels of any bottle and find out more about it, but you can also keep a journal of the wines you've tried and the places they were from.

Moving on to Desserts, there are quite a few apps to try, from Martha Stewart's cookies app to Healthy Desserts and Gluten-free bakery products.

When it comes to Meal Planning and Shopping, you can use Evernote or Wunderlist, but it is much easier to get a specialized app that does exactly that. AnyList Grocery Shopping will get you a fully automated Recipe Manager. All the ingredients are there, complete with sharing and sorting by recipe.

There's also a great selections of Magazines that you can check and they are all free. Just download them and read every issue in Newsstand.
