The open source version of Convirture is also a great success in the Linux community

ConVirt Enterprise, a solution for managing Xen and KVM, enabling users to standardize and proactively manage virtualized environment in a centralized fashion, is now used by more than 8,000 businesses.

Convirture, the developers of ConVirt Enterprise, has reported a fifth consecutive quarter-over-quarter growth.

The company has manged to extend its business in all the regions, including North and South America, EMEA and Asia.

"Linux-based virtualization is here, it's real and clearly there is an appetite for something other than VMWare when it comes to managing cloud computing and virtualization technologies."

"As KVM and Xen continue to gain traction with enterprise customers, we expect to see even faster growth through 2012", said Arsalan Farooq, CEO of Convirture in the press release.

An open source version of  ConVirt is also available and it has been downloaded more than 60,000 times. It's available for most of the major Linux distributions such as Debian, Ubuntu, OpenSuSE and so on.
