As a Christmas present to their users, the people from mtvoid have decided to make their Bluetooth media control utility, ControlFreak, free.

The software allows you to use your S60 mobile phone with Bluetooth as a remote control for your PC. It also enables the controlling of Winamp and has all the controls you might need for audio and video like play, pause, next, previous, fast forward, rewind and volume, so that you will be able to shuffle between tracks by simply using your mobile phone from wherever you are sitting at the moment, provided you are in the PC's Bluetooth zone.

The mobile phone can also be set to automatically pause, mute or reduce the volume of a song or video if you have an incoming call, enabling you to chat without interference.

You can also rate your music in Winamp by pressing the * key on your phone while you are listening to a song. Apart from Winamp, ControlFreak also features Desktop Control, which allows you to do anything you would normally do with your computer.

So - basically - you can chat with your friends, check your mail, listen to music or watch a movie while you're sitting in bed, and there's no more need to get up and head towards the PC every time you want to change the song you are listening to.

ControlFreak can be used on first and second edition S60 smartphones. Third edition S60 mobile phones are not supported at the moment. So if you currently own an S60 phone and want to control your PC without even being in the same room, you should try ControlFreak.
