Contest: Shoot Your Mug - Win iPod Classic

Have you watched Tide's Talking Stain ad? You should. This one rules. In fact, Tide themselves are so proud of it that they've actually launched a contest giving away limited edition Tide-themed iPod Classics. All you have to do is make your very own "talking stain" ad. If it's good, you may just have a $300 Tide-themed iPod Classic sent over to your house.

While opinions concerning the iPod Classic's looks are very divided on the web... No wait, that's a big fat lie. Pretty much everyone actually hates the design, but hey, a free 80 giger is not something you want to throw away. So anyway, as Tide informs, fans of both Apple's media player and of the commercial in question (not necessarily fans of the detergent too) are required to upload a photo of themselves, adjust it and then add voice. If the ad gets selected, the Tide-themed (presumably 80GB) iPod Classic pictured below 'Stainy' is yours.

However, before you run off to mytalkingstain.com, you should read this particular part within the contest's rules and regulations, which you might accidentally skip from all the excitement of wanting to win the Apple device:

Create an original video of 30 seconds or less that spoofs the Tide "Talking Stain" TV commercial and then enter your video into the Contest as per the instructions in Rule #2. NOTE: Videos must NOT contain or depict anything in a manner that is inappropriate as outlined in Rule #2. Your video may be posted at www.youtube.com/mytalkingstain (subject to the conditions noted in Rule #2). At the conclusion of the entry period, judges will determine up to 10 Finalist entries which will be posted on www.youtube.com/mytalkingstain for visitors to vote and determine the Award winner. Videos submitted and posted on youtube.com will be rated by visitors to that site however, ratings on youtube.com DO NOT determine the top 10 entries or Award winner. This was just so no one thinks they can cheat.

The contest begins at 3:00 PM (ET) on 2/3/08. Visitors of mytalkingstain.com will be required to follow the on-screen instructions in order to enter their 30-second video (or less) that spoofs the Tide Talking Stain TV commercial. According to Tide, the key message of your spoof should be: "Tide To Go silences stains instantly."

So what are you waiting for? Do something bad, have mom scream at you while your brother takes a picture of your face and who knows, maybe you'll win.
