That gigantic 3D printer that creates homes out of concrete won't be used though

I've brought you information about the concrete 3D printer before, the one that can create homes out of building materials within the span of 24 hours. Now I can tell you that the first such house is being made.

Sadly, it's not actually going to use that particular printer. Instead, this is an older project, one that will make the house out of 3D printed parts.

The house project has been in preparations ever since March 2013, but only now is the construction kicking off. The 3D printer had to be made and refined first after all.

Dutch firm DAS will use the 3.5 m / 11.48 foot tall printer KamerMaker XL (Dutch for “room maker”) to 3D print the components for the first 3D printed house.

It's a RepRap printer put inside a shipping container, more or less, and uses an 80% bio-based hotmelt, a type of plastic, to make the parts.
