The birds merely wished to protect their offspring

A team of researchers looking to tag some falcon chicks recently got attacked by the tiny birds' parents, which had no idea that the conservationists were not planning on harming their offspring and which did their best to protect their family.

As the picture above shows, the greenheads were left with no choice except use wooden shields in order to defend themselves and keep the angry falcons at bay while carrying on with the task of tagging the chicks and collecting some blood samples.

The run-in between the conservationists and the angry falcons took place at the Toledo University in Ohio, Daily Mail informs us.

“All adult falcons will defend their nests and their chicks, although these birds are particularly good at it, despite the obstacles presented by the layout of the university bell tower, where the nest is located,” a spokesperson for the university told members of the press.
