Nicole Kidman divorced Tom Cruise in 2001 and, as she admitted in an interview a few years later, their two adopted children, Connor and Isabella, “chose” Tom, not her. Even later, she lamented not having an actual relationship with them but, from what Connor is saying now, things seem to have been mended.

Connor, who is now trying to make a name for himself as a DJ, is in Australia on a business trip. He tells Woman’s Day Australia that, no matter the things one reads in the press, he and Nicole are very tight.

In saying this, he’s rubbishing countless reports saying that the actress doesn’t have any kind of relationship with her kids because she was declared an SP (Suppressive Person) by the Church of Scientology upon her divorce from Cruise, which means that she’s not allowed any contact to the members of the family still with the Church, even her own children.

The last time Nicole and Connor were photographed together was in 2007, and word has it that both he and Isabella didn’t even call Nicole “mom” but simply “Nicole.” In one of the interviews referenced above, the actress revealed that she wasn’t as close to the children as she would have liked, but blamed it mainly on geography, since she’s most of the time in her native country, Australia.

As Connor puts it, whatever happened right after the divorce is now water under the bridge.

“I love my mom. I don't care what people say, I know that me and Mum are solid. I love her a lot. My family means everything. Yeah, I love my music, but the family comes before everything else,” the aspiring DJ says.

After the Cruise divorce, Nicole found love again with her current husband Keith Urban, with whom she has 2 daughters, Sunday Rose, 5, and Faith Margaret, 3. Aside from a few comments here and there about what transpired between her and her “Mission: Impossible” ex, Nicole handled the wave of media attention with the utmost grace and tact.

In other words, she never trashed her ex-husband in any way, not even in a more subtle manner. And it wasn’t for lack of opportunity either.

Last year, for instance, asked directly about Scientology, the stunning actress told Vanity Fair that she would never speak ill of the Church because she had “two children who are Scientologists – Connor and Isabella,” adding, “and I utterly respect their beliefs.”
