Syncing not possible while several players are connected to the same computer

Apple has updated a KB article relating to “iPod for Windows,” reiterating that iTunes for Windows won’t allow syncing of multiple iPods simultaneously.

Apple explains that “while iTunes for Windows allows you to connect multiple iPod devices simultaneously to the same computer for charging, you cannot sync your data from the computer to all the iPod devices at the same time.”

Affecting iPod, iPod classic, iPod mini, iPod nano, and iPod shuffle, this “problem” is actually intentional. It’s a precautionary measure that ensures the customer’s content is kept safe.

Users can, for instance, connect multiple iPods via FireWire and USB at the same time, but “iTunes for Windows works best with only one iPod connected at a time,” Apple stresses.

“If you plan to connect multiple iPod devices to the same computer, eject any iPod devices that you are not using from iTunes,” reads Apple’s advice.
