It seems that the latest rumors regarding the launch of HTC Magic on May 1 have proven to be true after all, and we should be able to see the second Google Android-based mobile phone available on the market on the first day of next month. Vodafone UK has recently confirmed that the aforementioned launch date is the correct one, and that it will offer the handset to those who would like to pre-order it ahead of the official release starting with April 17.

In addition, previous reports that the upcoming Android device would become available on a £30 per month data plan have been confirmed as well. According to the mobile phone carrier, users in the UK will be able to enjoy the HTC Magic along with 600 minutes and unlimited text messages, not to mention the unlimited Internet and email offering that also comes with the package.

There are few things that haven't been said about the device, since it has become rather popular in a short while, and it is expected to become available in the near future on a series of markets around the world, including United States, as it has been spotted recently in FCC's back yard bearing the T-Mobile logo. The device was announced for Australia as well, and we also heard that it might soon go to China too.

Besides the Android operating system and the touchscreen capabilities, Vodafone also says that the handset is to come to its airwaves featuring extended support for Google applications, while also including a Document Viewer that will offer users the possibility to view/edit Word, Excel or PDF files. Undoubtedly, more features and applications will come with the second Android-powered mobile phone, and users in the UK will have the opportunity to be the first in the world to get their hands on it.
