Streaming media centers may seem a little too much for the average user, but a true home-theater PC enthusiast will surely appreciate the new offering from Conceptronic: the Media Giant media
server. The system is a fully-featured network high-definition media player with a built-in hard-disk recorder.

The Media Giant is the optimal combination between the IT industry with the consumer electronics technology. There is no need to hide your media server in the basement, as its stylish and sleek design will allow it to perfectly blend with the home-theater appliances. The server's front panel is equipped with touch-screen functionality, that allows the user to perform the most common tasks at the touch of a finger.

Under the stylish hood, the user will find plenty of functionalities to please even the most demanding HTPC user. The server comes with a built-in 1 TB 3.5-inch SATA hard disk that allows the user to record the favorite high-definition broadcasts just like using a traditional VCR. The server accepts four input signal sources, such as the built in analog TV tuner, AV in (Composite/Scart in), Component YPbPr in, and 1394 (FireWire) DV in.

The Media Giant streaming server comes with a Samba client and UPnP AV Twonky media server, that allows its users to stream and copy photos, music or movies from and to the Media Giant or PC over a regular network. When no wired or wireless network is available, Conceptronic simplifies the operation by shipping the product with a built in PLC (Powerline) 200 Mbps network adapter, that allows computer interconnectivity through the building's powerlines.

Conceptronic's media server allows high-definition content to be played either locally, or remotely. It comes with all the necessary connections, such as HDMI and Component YPbPr for optimal images in HD quality. Optical and coaxial SPDIF connections are also supported, and allows the user to add a digital speaker set for full enjoyment of 5.1 Dolby Surround sound.
