It wouldn't have been a proper Computex trade show if there hadn’t been at least some gaming personal computers released there, so Razer's release of the 14-inch Blade laptop was, to an extent, expected.

The Razer Blade 14 is a surprisingly thin thing. Not really close to the shape of ultrabooks, but definitely not bulky either. It has a screen of 1600 x 900 pixels resolution (LED-backlit, 16:9 aspect ratio).

At the heart of the system lies an Intel Core i7-4702QH, quad-core processor with Hyper-Threading (2.2 GHz / 3.2 GHz clock speeds).

Said chip is backed by 8 GB DDR3L-1600 MHz memory and an SSD of 128 GB storage (optional 256/512 GB).

Razer Blade 14 also gets a Qualcomm Killer NIC N1202 wireless card (802.11a/b/g/n + Bluetooth 4.0), HDMI, stereo speakers, Dolby Home Theater v4 audio, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M.

Sure, the Intel CPU has an HD 4600 iGP, but it can't do much in games, so the discrete GPU was added as well.

"The Razer Blade is the thinnest and most powerful 14-inch gaming laptop ever, thinner than a standing dime, and we couldn't have created it without the help of partners like Intel," says Min-Liang Tan , Razer co-founder, CEO and creative director.

"Now that the Blade is open for pre-orders, we can all celebrate a monumental day for PC gamers worldwide."

In addition to the hardware already mentioned, the newcomer possesses an array microphone, three USB 3.0 ports, a Full HD webcam (1.3 megapixels), a 150 W Power Adapter, a built-in 70 Wh Rechargeable lithium ion polymer battery, and an Anti-Ghosting Keyboard with adjustable backlight.

Finally, the product ships with a Kensington Lock and Razer Synapse 2.0 software. Or will ship, since it's only available for pre-order at this time. The price is of $1,799 / €1,377 – 1,799.
