The trackpad is actually a small secondary screen, an LCD

Despite touch panels becoming more and more widespread, and the fact that many laptop owners also buy small mice for regular use, trackpads continue to be an intrinsic part of notebooks.

Micro-Star International decided to stray from this basic truth, though it didn't actually shy away from the core idea.

Which is to say, it brought a unique laptop prototype to Computex 2013, in Taipei, Taiwan.

Said laptop doesn't have a trackpad. Instead, it has a second display where said trackpad should be.

Since it was an early model, the trackpad LCD didn't really work, at least not as it should.

MSI added it because it didn't plan to make the 17.3-inch screen a touch panel.

For a gaming system (and this is a gaming system that will be called GS70 Stealth), a touchscreen is actually superfluous, because it's not like a gamer will be able to use it during a shooter or any other game, especially with at least one hand stuck to the keyboard.

Sales will begin in August with a starting price around $1,699 / €1,300 – 1,699.
