I've grown quite used to reading about ultrabooks and even full-size notebooks that make do with the iGP of central processors.

As such, I find it is a nice surprise when a mobile PC, especially an ultrabook, uses an AMD or NVIDIA discrete GPU.

Acer just made my day by introducing the Aspire V7, which not only uses one of Intel's new Haswell mobile CPUs, but also boasts an NVIDIA card.

The CPU is the quad-core Core i7-4500U, while the graphics card is a 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GT750M.

Acer Aspire V7 also has 12GB of RAM and a 1TB HDD, all in a 14-inch package (IPS display).

The price of the ultrabook is high though, or $1,300 / €995 – 1,300.

Besides the Aspire V7, Acer has new updates to the S7, M, V3, V5 and E Series lines of mobile personal computers.
