It hasn't been fully detailed as of yet, but the hardware is easy enough to guess

This year's Computex trade show is taking place in Taipei, Taiwan, between June 4 and June 8, which means that, since June 4 is tomorrow, the show hasn't really started yet.

That hasn't stopped most companies, in this case ASUS, from making formal product announcements already though, far from it.

Intel has revealed its desktop series of Haswell central processing units, for instance, and also talked about the mobile lineup.

One processor from that mobile lineup lies at the heart of the ASUS Zenbook Infinity.

A very thin ultrabook, the mobile personal computer is 14% thinner than previous-generation Zenbooks, at 15.5 mm.

Engadget doesn't actually specify Haswell as the chip inside, but it's obvious that's the case. After all, previous Zenbooks used Ivy Bridge.

Since we're on the subject, the memory, storage and other features weren't detailed, but the report did mention a USB 3.0 port, an SD card slot, micro-HDMI output and a mini DisplayPort connector.

The top half is the important part though. Not only does the screen support touch input, but it also has a Gorilla Glass 2 lid.

That's right, the lid, not the display, is covered in highly scratch-resistant glass that should even withstand drops without a dent.

ASUS claims Zenbook Infinity has already undergone various drop tests, so until we or others can see for ourselves, we'll have to take it at its word.

Finally, the ASUS Zenbook Infinity Ultrabook features a backlit keyboard, so that the keys may be perfectly visible even at night, on a dark train or in airplanes when all lights go dim.

The rest of the hardware should come to light over the next few days. Software-wise, it's clear that Microsoft's Windows 8 is installed, possibly along with a bunch of proprietary programs and, maybe, Microsoft Office and the like.
